WHERE IS WASDALE?
Please don't under-estimate the distance and time to drive to Wasdale from either the M6 motorway, or even from other places within the Lake District National Park.
The Wasdale valley has no mobile phone reception, which means you cannot inform me that you are only 30 minutes away. Although we always wait a little for any late groups, we cannot hang around forever, and often some people will miss the training event because they arrive late.
We highly recommend that if at all possible, you stay overnight in, or near to, Wasdale so you don't have a long drive in the morning.
From the M6 motorway, Wasdale is AT LEAST 90 MINUTES AWAY. That's both from Junction 36, and from Junction 40. Staying within the Lake District may even take longer...
The roads into Wasdale are narrow and unforgiving, and if you get stuck behind a tractor you will not be able to overtake it.
In 2006, we did an event for C4/BMW and were given a BMW M3 sports car to play with. We still couldn't get from the M6 to Wasdale in less than 90 minutes.
